Humboldt Cosmos Multiversity, University of La Laguna (ULL) and the Cryptoeconomics Research Institute of the Vienna University of Economics (WU) will organize a new event on cryptoeconomics and Blockchain technology in La Laguna, on May 3rd. WU’s Director, Dr. Shermin Voshgmir will be presenting the conference “Cryptoeconomics as a new economic discipline extending on Blockchain”.
Following last Humboldt Cosmos Multiversity, University of La Laguna (ULL) and the Cryptoeconomics Research Institute of the Vienna University of Economics (WU) conference, [UN] Blocked, on May 3th, at 12:00PM in ULL’s Mathematics Faculty (Salón de Grados, 5th floor). In this occasion, WU’s Director, Dr. Shermin Voshgmir will be presenting the conference “Cryptoeconomics as a new economic discipline extending on Blockchain”. The presentation will serve to the attendants as an introduction of the Cryptoeconomics Research Institute (WU), to discover the power and incentives of potential and current application of Blockchain, to end up opening a discussion of Tenerife as a Blockchain living lab.

About the speaker
Dr. Shermin Voshgmir was born in Austria, from Iranian roots, living between Vienna and Berlin. Since 2018, when the Institute was founded, she is the Director of the Cryptoeconomics Research Institute of the Vienna University of Economics (WU) and founder of the Blockchain Hub in Berlin. The aim of the WU is to coordinate all Blockchain related research activities in a multi facettet and interdisciplinary way, build a competence center that connects researchers with practitioners and translates the know how into teaching
Author of the book Token Economy and many other articles on Blockchain, she works on the Intersection of Technonoly, Art & Society. She is also advisor of Jolocom, a Blockchain based identity protocol. In the past, she was curator of TheDAO, on the advisory board of the Estonian E-residency as well as Wunder, a decentralized art museum. She regularly speaks at conferences and consults on Blockchains especially in the context of sustainability and social impact of future technologies. Shermin did her PhD in IT-Management at the Vienna University of Economics, at the Department for Information Systems. The topic of her thesis was to evaluate the impact of XML with real option analysis. Furthermore, she studied film and drama in Madrid. Her past work experience ranges from internet start-ups, IT consulting & filmmaking.
