Call for papers: International Sustainability Transitions Conference – Vienna 2020

img
As the European Parliament has declared the climate emergency, there is a strong call for solutions at every level. As a society, we do need deep and systemic changes to tackle the climate crisis.

With this on the mind, the Austrian Institute of Technology is inviting researchers to put their developments in diverse fields into perspective. This edition’s call is for contributions that address structural issues and causes for current challenges. These calls come together with the design and implementation of transformative governance and policies for systemic change. Contributions may want to shed light on issues such as the role of diverse actors. From the sovereign states, non-state actors, to social movements, new forms of governance tackling multiple, interacting, and potentially overlapping transitions.

The Austrian Institute of Technology is looking for contributions that address the challenges and opportunities of just transitions. This  includes, for example, trade-offs between different sustainability objectives.

The 11th Sustainability Transitions Conference will take place in Vienna. It will be hosted by the Austrian Institute of Technology and the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Institute for Law and Governance/Research Institute for Urban Management and Governance).
